Can I have a pet?
Yes, domestic dogs, cats and birds are allowed at Redwood Terrace. We have a standard pet policy.

What about parking?
We have underground garages for our residents and guests. Each resident or couple is assigned one parking space with a remote at no additional charge.

What is the Meal Value Plan?
Every month, each resident is given three meal credits a day or 90 credits in 30 days. Each meal has an assigned number of credits, for example, breakfast is one credit, lunch is two credits and dinner is three credits. Each resident uses their meal value credits as they choose. You are not required to notify Food Service which meals you wish to attend unless you wish to reserve a table for guests. The credits expire at the end of each month and you start fresh at the beginning of each month.

Are there planned activities?
Yes, we have an Event Coordinator who works with the residents to provide enriching and stimulating activities. The residents play a large part in deciding what activities are provided. Our community plans on-campus as well as off-campus activities, for example: Bingo, bridge, computer classes, aquatic exercises, attending concerts, exhibits at museums, plays and theatre productions and trips to local casinos.

What kind of transportation do you have?
We provide scheduled bus transportation within a ten-mile radius for shopping or personal errands. The bus goes to a local mall on Saturdays. On Sunday we provide transportation to area churches. We provide lift vans for those who need it, and we transport residents by car to and from scheduled medical and doctor visits.

In addition, as a community service, we also provide transportation to handicapped adults and seniors in the Escondido and San Marcos area.

Are the units furnished or unfurnished?
We supply the main appliances in the kitchen, for example, refrigerator, and stove/oven. At Redwood Terrace, the cottages and homes also have built in microwaves, and dishwashers are provided in the large one bedroom, and two bedroom apartments. Redwood Terrace's two-bedroom apartments, cottages and homes have room for a side-by-side washer and dryer. We also provide common laundry rooms with complimentary washers and dryers.

Am I required to eat in the main dining room?
No, you may prepare your meals in your own unit, however, the cost of the Meal Value Plan is included in your monthly service fee and will not be discounted if you do not utilize this service.

What time are meals served?
Breakfast is served from 7:30 ­ 8:30 AM, lunch is served 11:30 ­ 1:00 PM, and dinner is served 5:00 ­ 6:30 PM. Cocktail days and hours are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Do the units have their own air conditioning and heat?
Yes, and each unit has its own thermostat so the resident can adjust the temperature to whatever is comfortable for them.

Do you provide housekeeping?
Yes, weekly housekeeping and bed & bath linen services.

What utilities are paid?
We pay all utilities except for telephone service.
